Oak Framed Car Port

A wooden covered structure, possibly a carport or entrance, attached to a brick building with a garage door, surrounded by a paved driveway and green shrubbery, with residential houses and trees in the background.

This project involved the design and construction of a bespoke oak-framed car port, purpose-built to house a tall motorhome while staying fully within permitted development limits.

The finished structure blends perfectly with the existing property - combining the warmth and character of oak with a clean, practical design that meets every planning and functional requirement.

Construction of a wooden structure outdoors, with wooden beams and support posts, on a paved area next to parked vehicles.
Partially constructed wooden frame with scaffolding, tools, and supplies on a workbench outdoors, trees and bushes in the background.

With height restrictions in place, the design required a very shallow roof pitch, making it a challenge to balance clearance, proportion, and weatherproofing. The client wanted the roof tiles to match the main house, so we sourced a specialised tray system that allows traditional tiles to be used on low-pitched roofs while maintaining full protection from the elements.
